Remove ads from smart TV sets, without breaking them
To remove ads from smart TV sets safely, you switch off the right packages and keep the rest. Clean Your TV gives you a model-specific list of both for Android TV and Google TV, so you can drop ads, tracking and preinstalled bloat without losing HDMI, live TV or the remote. Search your model, preview the list free, then unlock every model once for $9.90.
300 models. Nothing is uninstalled, and everything can be switched back on.
What a safe pack changes, and what it never touches
A pack only switches off services that sell, track or nag, and leaves everything that drives the hardware. The split below is the same on every model, but the package names differ by brand, which is why a generic list is risky.
| Switched off | Always kept |
|---|---|
| Sponsored rows and promo tiles on the home screen | HDMI inputs, ARC and eARC |
| Viewing trackers (ACR) and analytics agents | The tuner and live TV apps |
| Maker bug-report and attribution uploaders | Remote control and Bluetooth services |
| Retail demo mode and unused store apps | Wi-Fi, settings and firmware updater (unless you choose) |
| Voice assistant, only if you choose | Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and the Play Store |
Disabled, not uninstalled: no root and no flashing.
Every pack ships with the command that reverses each change.
How to remove ads from smart TV sets in 5 steps
You need a computer on the same Wi-Fi as the TV and about fifteen minutes. The steps are the same for every brand; only the package list changes.
- 1Find your modelSearch the model on the sticker at the back of the TV, or the name in Settings, About. Open its pack and read the free preview first.
- 2Turn on developer options and USB debuggingIn Settings, About, press OK on Build seven times, then switch on USB debugging (and network debugging if the TV offers it).
- 3Back up the package listFrom a computer on the same Wi-Fi, connect with adb and save the installed and disabled package lists so every change can be reversed.
- 4Disable one group at a timeRun the pack group by group, starting with tracking and ads. Check HDMI inputs, live TV, your streaming apps and the remote after each group.
- 5Undo anything you missIf a feature stops working, run the undo command for that package. Nothing is uninstalled, so every change can be switched back on.
Which TVs are covered
Any set that runs Android TV or Google TV is a candidate. Pick your brand to see every model we have a list for. Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS) and Roku are not Android and are not supported; Fire TV gets the clean-up only.
Why not just install a launcher or a generic debloater?
Each approach solves part of the problem. A third-party launcher changes what you see; it does not switch off the background services. A phone debloater is not written with TVs in mind. The free AI-assistant projects work well but expect you to run a coding assistant in a terminal.
| Option | Good at | Gap |
|---|---|---|
| Launchers such as Projectivy | A clean home screen in minutes, no computer | Background tracking services keep running |
| Phone debloaters such as UAD-ng | Mature, with backup and restore | Its README does not mention Android TV |
| Free AI-assistant projects | Free, large device lists | Needs a coding assistant and a terminal |
| This site | Plain-English, per-model keep and disable lists, undo steps | You still run the commands yourself |

Frequently asked questions
How do I remove ads from my smart TV?
On Android TV and Google TV you switch off the preinstalled promo, recommendation and tracking packages over adb, then optionally replace the home screen with a cleaner launcher. A model-specific list tells you which packages are safe to switch off and which ones your TV needs.
Is it safe, and can it brick my TV?
Packages are disabled for your user, not uninstalled, so each one can be switched back on. The real risk is disabling something the TV depends on, such as the tuner or HDMI services. That is why each pack lists what to keep and why you should disable one group at a time and test after each.
Does it work on Samsung, LG or Roku TVs?
No. Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS) and Roku are not Android, so this method does not apply. Fire TV supports only the clean-up part, because Fire OS does not accept a third-party home screen.
What is the difference between this and the free CleanYourTV project?
The free open-source project is excellent and our lists are adapted from it under its MIT licence. We are independent and unofficial. What you pay for is a plain-English, per-model pack with a keep list, copy-ready commands and undo steps, so you do not need a coding assistant.
What do I get for $9.90, and can I get a refund?
A one-time payment unlocks the full pack for every model on the site, including models we add later. If it does not help, email us within 7 days of purchase for a full refund.
